Abe's first Marketing post

About Me

Hello, my name is Abe Jennings and this is my first-ever marketing blog post! A bit about me- I recently moved from Albany to Corvallis this past year with my Mom and dog Stella, who is a Belgian Malinois. While I miss my old home in Albany, I have come to love Corvallis already. I am dual enrolled here at LBCC and OSU and plan on graduating this spring with my AS in Business Administration. I'm unsure at the moment what I want to pursue going forward at OSU so I've been trying my hardest to do a bit of everything and explore my options. 

I'm incredibly excited to be taking this class as I absolutely love marketing, more specifically digital marketing. It's been a passion of mine for quite some time now and I've even tried my hand at it a few times doing some freelance work in the space. Along with that, I've also taken a liking to coding, more specifically web design, which has just recently become a passion of mine. Some of my other hobbies include; working out, traveling, spending time with family/friends, and playing games on my computer.


The first picture below is of my dog Olive and I, the second picture is of my dog Stella, and the third picture is of me and my good friend Cole at the Buccaneers vs. Cowboys game in Dallas this past year!

     The company I selected for this post is my personal favorite fast-food restaurant, Wendys.  People are always giving Wendy's feedback on their food and services, especially on Twitter. If anyone has it down when it comes to marketing on social media, it would be Wendy's. This is the main reason I chose to write about them in specific as I feel they're always interacting with their customers and taking in feedback.      Wendy's value proposition is "Quality is our Recipe". Furthermore, they guarantee that despite being a fast-food chain, you're still receiving food that is of higher quality than most, if not all, of their competitors. Marketing in the News: Heineken & Marvel Superbowl Ad

      Popular alcoholic beverage brand Heineken quietly had one of their biggest partnerships yet with the motion picture titan, Marvel studios. I saw this ad campaign pop up on my YouTube and figured it would be a great idea for this week's blog post, especially considering it is set to be featured as a Superbowl commercial.       The commercial itself is very short but perfectly displays both the beverage and the upcoming movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania". The video has garnered almost 13 million views on YouTube alone thus far and it has been out for less than 2 weeks. I think what makes this ad so special is how it is able to appeal to all age groups with its short, funny, and relatable structure; it even has a memorable catchphrase "drinking and shrinking responsibly".     Almost everyone can remember a time when they were a kid or had a kid, that  looked  at them a little funny for drinking alcohol because they had always been told to stay away fr
